You must "try before you buy" this Xtra. It is impossible to test on all configurations of computers and installed software, therefore it is the purchasers responsibility to ascertain that the Xtra works to their requirements. License details

The licence have changed with this release of the SerialXtra. The conditions on these Xtras may change without notice. Licenses can be purchased from Virtual Software, use the "buy" buttons above which link to the appropriate page.

**A free upgrade is available to those who purchased SerialXtra 0.9x after March 31st 2003. To request one please email upgradeseriala@physicalbits.com with the email address of purchaser, where purchased and the date. Student and not-for-profit licenses will not be automatically upgraded - time limited demo versions for specific projects will still be issued.

Types of License

Authoring: Allows the user to develop movies and use the xtra within the Director environment. All downloaded xtras have this type of license.

Demo: This license is available on request. It grants the requester rights to use the xtra in authoring and projector modes for 30 days. It is a compiled code non-exclusive license. Not to be used in mission critical or medical applications. Consecutive licenses will NOT be issued, although multiple may be requested. 30 day license - can be used in a projector.

Full: This license is available on payment of license fee. It grants the requester rights to use the xtra in authoring and distribute within a projector with no time limit. It is a compiled code non-exclusive license.

Never to be used in mission critical or medical applications.

Converting Director Scripts from 0.9x to 1.x

• Change the "new" message to the newer format that add the license details.
• Add the "Open" message, which takes the name of the device that used to be passed in with new.
• FindPorts now return a property list - convert
• SetBufferSize now takes 2 parameters, one for input buffer, one for output
